For most questions, a quiet read through the items below will get you to an answer. If you do not find one, send us a note — we are a small team and we read every message.

Common questions
- Do you have an account, login, or password reset?
- No. Quies has no accounts. Your entries are tied to the device they were created on. If you uninstall, the data is gone.
- Can I move my entries to a new phone?
- Not yet. Because there is no Quies account and entries are encrypted with a per-device key, version 1.0 does not support cross-device transfer. We are working on an end-to-end-encrypted export and import path for a future release.
- I forgot my privacy passcode.
- There is no recovery. By design, no one — including us — can unlock a forgotten privacy passcode. The only way back is to erase Quies and start over. This is the cost of a passcode that no one besides you can use.
- I lost my entries after uninstalling.
- Uninstalling Quies removes every entry on that device. There is no cloud backup we control. We are sorry; this is the trade-off for keeping entries off our servers.
- Will the Ask companion read my entries to Siri or anyone else?
- No. Shortcuts and Siri intents in Quies will only let you start The Minute or open a capture sheet by voice. They will never read your entry bodies aloud.
- Why is the voice recording deleted?
- Because the recording is not the point — the words are. The privacy commitment is that voice journals leave no audio behind. The transcript is what gets saved.
- How is Quies different from a therapy app?
- Quies is not therapy. It is a journal with quiet reflection tools and gentle pattern-noticing. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or guide you through a clinical program. If you need a therapist, we hope Quies can sit beside that work, never replace it.
- Why do you ask for microphone permission?
- For voice journaling. If you do not use voice journaling, you can decline microphone permission and Quies will work fine — only the voice capture surface will be unavailable.
- Why is HealthKit / Apple Health mentioned but not active?
- Apple Health integration is committed in our roadmap and will arrive in a future update. We deferred it from v1.0 so we could get the rest of the app to you faster. When it ships, it will be opt-in per Apple's standard permission flow.
- I am a researcher / journalist / therapist.
- We are happy to talk. Email support@masdinero.com and we will route you to the right person.
