On your phone. Audio recordings are processed by on-device Whisper, then deleted automatically within 30 minutes of transcription. The resulting transcript and summary are stored locally in encrypted on-device storage. Auris has no servers for your meeting data — there's nothing for us to lose, leak, or sell.
After transcription, an on-device language model reads the conversation and pulls out commitments, follow-ups, decisions, and promises — assigning each to either you or the client, with an urgency rating. You can edit any of them, mark them complete, or add your own. Everything happens on your device.
Settings → Export gives you a complete copy of your meetings, action items, and clients in a portable format. Send it to yourself, archive it, import it into another tool — your choice. The export never touches our servers.
Settings → Privacy → Wipe Auris. Two taps. Every recording, transcript, action item, and client is removed from your device. No "cooling-off period" — it's your phone, it's your data.
For very long meetings (45+ minutes), transcription is processed in chunks and may take longer. If the summary is missing key sections, tap Regenerate on the meeting summary screen — the on-device model gets a second pass at the transcript with refined prompts.
Auris's on-device language model is a one-time download (about 650 MB on v1.0) and happens in the background after onboarding. Download pauses automatically if your battery is below 20% or you're on cellular — connect to WiFi or power up to resume. While the download finishes, basic features work; the full AI unlocks once it completes.
Recording conversations is regulated differently around the world. You are responsible for complying with the recording laws in your jurisdiction and for obtaining any required consent from meeting participants. When in doubt, ask the other party for permission before recording.
